Get the Look

The Trends

This season in hair, diversity is the buzzword with the essential looks being described as futurism, siren, 2-tone and the dancer. Mirrored on the catwalks of London, Milan and Paris, these four key looks are poles apart from each other – that’s great news for us because it means there really is something for everyone!

Futurism really captures the strong styles, graphic shapes and space age fabrics of the future. The catwalk positively bristled with laminated finishes and razor sharp outlines. Hair follows suit with sharp a-symmetric bobs and strong colours to complement.

If you’re not quite ready for the future yet, pop a bit further into the past and indulge your inner Siren. This super sexy trend is all about feminine strength - pure glamour with a touch of burlesque to add.

If that’s too racy, you’ll be glad to know that simple black and white is also in fashion this season. The 2-tone theme cries out to its Chanel history. Minimal shapes and bold textures maintain their purity. In hair monochrome tints work with softer outlines to create a vibrant but bold look.

Finally, for those romantics out there, the delicate, sensuous, and feminine style of The Dancer will have you reaching for your leg warmers and alice bands in no time. This fluid look makes best use of loose structured layers, dishevelled textures and soft ballerina inspired buns to describe a theme that is all about movement.

The Products

For those of us who have pushed the barrier of 40, I am glad to say Schwarzkopf have launched new hair care products under their Bonacure range called Time Restore. Designed specifically to restore the keratins that your hair loses over time, this fantastic range of products contains coenzyme Q10, which has long been used in skin products to restore suppleness and glow. Now, for the first time contained in a full hair care range of shampoos, conditioners and treatments, these are literally flying off our shelves. Ask your stylist about the range the next time you are in the salon.

If you haven’t seen them yet, the new look ghd stylers are now in salon and much in demand. With an improved shape and curved barrel, it really is time to throw out your tongs and invest in a set of ghd’s for the ultimate styling tool – curly or straight. Added features include intelligent technology to switch off the stylers if they are not being used (useful if you forget!), and a “how to” DVD to help you make the most of your new styling tool. Brilliant for ghd virgins as well as for the most die hard of ghd fans.

Finally, as we are fast approaching summer, permanent hair removal with Chromolite is becoming ever more popular and now is the time to be having it done. Imagine not having to shave your legs, bikini or underarm EVER again! Bliss. The process is completely safe and pain free but we do recommend a private consultation with our expert, Belinda Knox-Tully, whose experience in permanent hair removal is second to none.

As always, give your local salon a call on Perth 01738 633221 or Bridge of Allan 01786 831303 and arrange a consultation with one of our professionals to be certain you’ve got this season’s look.
