Charlie Taylor Conference Sets Vision for Growth
Over seventy of the expansive Charlie Taylor team of stylists and beauty
therapists gathered in Perth Concert Hall at the beginning of the year for the
annual staff conference. Hearing from Alastair Taylor, the group’s Managing
Director, and Charlie Taylor, who together set the vision for the future growth
of the company, the day was motivating for all.
Inspirational talks from leading speakers, followed by a private award
ceremony for the best performing stylists and therapists across the company,
have firmly set the wheels in motion for growth. The salon group predicts more
new salon openings over the next five years.
Bridge of Allan opens
The much awaited fourth salon in the Charlie Taylor group
opened just prior to Christmas in the Scottish spa town of Bridge of Allan and
has been a haven for local celebrities since the very day it opened. One of the
very first customers over the threshold was none other than Steven Pressley, the
Scotland International footballer who now plays for Celtic.
The Bridge of Allan salon stocks a wide range of Aveda, Schwarzkopf and Wella
hair products and has been readily welcomed into the local Bridge of Allan
community.
Chamber Award Sponsors
As past winners of various Perthshire Chamber of Commerce
Star Awards, the company decided it was time to give something back to the
Perthshire business community and agreed to sponsor the category for Training
& Development.
Judging the category, managing director Alastair Taylor said "The Famous
Grouse Experience was a clear winner and I was delighted to see them pick up
both the Training & Development Award and the Bank of Scotland trophy for
the Overall Winner on the night."
Hall of Fame Welcomes Charlie
Charlie Taylor was welcomed into the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame at the
end of 2006, joining celebrated stylists such as Trevor Sorbie, whom Charlie
worked with in London, Andrew Collinge and Nicky Clarke.
This coveted accolade, the most elusive in British Hairdressing, has never
been awarded to more than 30 hairdressers across the UK, marking Charlie as one
of the very best stylists in contemporary hairdressing.
Charlie has now been running her independent chain of salons for 22 years and
enjoys an international career as a stylist.
