Essential Looks: Modern Life
Unless you had a front row seat at all the shows in London, Paris, Milan and New York then you are probably struggling to summarise the key trends for the coming Autumn/Winter season. Don’t stress, just check out this season’s Essential Looks from Schwarzkopf Professional.
Charlie Taylor says “The latest Essential Looks collection, Modern Life is a really fresh direction for the catwalks; it’s a real reflection of today’s society. Every designer has contributed to the fashion melting pot in their own individual way which has produced something totally eclectic. Each fashion mood within Modern Life is a story with depth and I predict lots of salon clients will find it very liberating.”
The Modern Life Collection has four distinctive fashion moods.
Minimalist is ‘Clean, simple and strong’. Cropped-out lengths with contrasting layers merge with clean classic bobs that use blocks of colour or solid tones in jet black and claret. Chignons, slim pony tails and narrow curtains of length all contributed to make the look tight, clean and glossy.
Glitterati is ‘The new wave in seventies glamour’. It’s the season for big blow dry’s, curls, waves and texture but above all ultimate condition. Fringes were big news – heavy, flicked or chunky and dishevelled. Colours are auburn, gold and ruby in luminous shades.
Boys Own is full of ‘Mannish allure’. These men (and women) are bending the rules and blurring the edges of tradition. Hair is a sculpted mix of button down school boy polish with clean finishes and length with strong broken outlines that would look great on either sex.
Femme Fatale delivers ‘Contrasts in feminine beauty’. This mood is about mixing up sexy retro glamour with playful textures and tailoring, style yourself as a pin-up girl for the modern era. Hair is piled, pulled, blown and tossed. Colours are washed out gold’s, strawberry blondes and resonant browns.
